Responsible AI means building and deploying AI systems in ways that are ethical, transparent, fair, and designed with awareness of human impact. This covers avoiding harmful bias, respecting privacy, ensuring decisions can be explained and challenged, and deploying AI in ways that account for potential societal effects.
It is broader than that. It also includes positive obligations — designing for fairness, building in explainability from the start, involving affected communities in development, and being honest about what a system can and cannot do. Responsible AI is a set of considerations that should shape every stage of development, not a checklist applied at the end.
